Rajkumar Santoshi, a filmmaker, received a two-year prison sentence from a Jamnagar court over a cheque-bouncing case.

Santoshi had borrowed one crore from Ashok Lal in 2015 for a film. He issued 10 cheques of Rs 10 lakh each that bounced. When Lal sought repayment, Santoshi became unreachable, prompting legal action. Despite being summoned and fined, Santoshi neglected court proceedings. The court’s current ruling mandates Santoshi to serve jail time and pay Rs 2 crore.
