In this situation, a family living in the Puwakdeniya area on the Rambukkanai-Pinnawalai road is raising porcupines and making a living.
Porcupines protecting the family
According to the housewife, who has been raising the family, the hedgehogs she raises are shown to foreign domestic tourists, and pay her children’s school fees from the proceeds.
Not only that, she also supports her blind husband’s medical expenses with the income she receives from him, she said.
The incident of a family living with porcupines, which many fear, is heartening.
