The delegation sought a probe by either of the central investigating agencies, either the CBI or the NIA, into the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

A Punjab Congress delegation on Wednesday met Governor Banwarilal Purohit seeking an inquiry by the central agency NIA or CBI into the brutal murder of party leader and singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The delegation was led by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

The other members of the delegation were the leader of the opposition in Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa, working president of the party’s state unit Bharat Bhushan Ashu, deputy leader of Congress Legislative Party Rajkumar Chabbewal, former deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and former minister Balbir Singh Sidhu.

The delegation sought an inquiry by any of the central investigating agencies, either the CBI or the NIA, into the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, saying no one had faith in the state government.

He said the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government has proved to be “disastrous” for the state.

No doubt, the AAP got a public mandate, but it turned out to be a “complete failure,” the delegation said.

It was not a routine murder but a well-conceived conspiracy executed so boldly that the assailants had no fear of the law, it said, adding that the police still have no leads.

They are only clinging to “confessions” made by some people on social media, they said.

The delegation told the governor that CM Mann has been a “complete disaster.”

He is also “insensitive or incompetent” to understand the gravity of the situation and the tragedy, the Congress leaders said.

The delegation said Mann did not have the courtesy to pay a condolence visit to the bereaved parents whose only son was a victim of the assassins’ bullets as he not only withdrew security but also turned himself into a public spectacle for cheap populism.

“It is a double whammy. Bhagwant Mann is not only incompetent but he is also being dictated from Delhi by those who have no clue about what is happening in Punjab,” they said.

Meanwhile, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal said Mann has “failed miserably” as home minister of the state and should be sacked immediately for “failing to maintain law and order and provide even basic security to the people of Punjab.”

In a statement here, Shiromani Akali Dal president said, “It seems that jungle law has descended on Punjab. No one is safe. Be it the gruesome murder of youth icon Sidhu Moosewala or the RPG attack on Punjab police intelligence headquarters.” to clashes between two communities.”

Stating that Punjab is a border state and its security cannot be compromised, Badal said, “We have an enemy neighbor who is likely to take advantage of this situation to further destabilize the state unless urgent steps are taken to stop this rot. ”

Badal said a “fear psychosis” had entered the minds of people who felt insecure because of the free rein given to gangsters who were not only organizing extortion rackets but also committing targeted killings.
